Sony Ericsson- New! XPERIA X1 Windows Mobile 6 PDA Phone


Sony Ericsson announced that it will enter the Windows Mobile Smartphone market later this year, with the XPERIA X1, a new touchscreen handset with several new and innovative features.

The X1′s 3″ touchscreen display slides out to expose a full QWERTY keyboard, but instead of sliding over or up, the screen slides on an angled curve, a so-called “Arc-slider” design. The X1 also offers some new Windows Mobile UI eye-candy, including panels which can be used to move about the operating system. Primary features includes EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA network connectivity, a VGA-resolution touchscreen display (which promises DVD-quality video), a 3.2MP digital camera, built-in Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, aGPS, a microSD flash memory card slot and up to 400MB of onboard memory.

The XPERIA X1 was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain on February 11, 2008. There are few details on pricing and availability, but the XPERIA X1 is due out “in selected markets” in the second half of 2008.(Source:Pocketpccentral.net)

Acer unveils pint-sized PC

ACER has recently announced the launch of its new pint-sized pc – Aspire X3600. It is a mini PC that goes big on its multimedia features. The pocket computer size is one-quarter of a standard desktop and can be used in student dormitories, small apartments and home offices. In spite of its scaled-down form, the Aspire X3600 came with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, bundled with an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT graphics card, and a Dolby surround sound support for a better gaming and video experience. It also has a Blu-ray Disc drive for playing HD movies. The Aspire X3600 can be purchased at authorized Acer dealers, with the basic price of $1,599.

Spb Pocket Plus was last updated on Dec.6, 2007 with a version of 4.0.2. It is the most powerful plug-in today. It is a well � programmed gadget that is easily used via tabs. Its features include: different beautiful skins, easy and smart scrolling, ZIP file support in the file explorer, fast searching using the installed advanced Internet explorer, easily closed buttons, more additional commands, and automatic recover to normal mode. It requires Windows 2003, Windows Mobile 5 Pocket PC, Windows Mobile 6 Classic or Professional device. So this software is surely suitable for those who frequently use their phone and want to spend less time finding things out.

The Thinnest and Lightest Pocket PC on the Market

On May 29th, Hewlett-Packard manufacturer High Tech Computer also filed for FCC approval of 5 new h1900 series iPAQ handhelds. Models expected are the h1930, h1935, h1937, h1940, and h1945. All of the h1930 and h1940 models will have 900mAh replaceable Lithium ion batteries, 3.5″ transflective color TFT displays, SDIO support, and run on the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile operating platform for handheld computers, Pocket PC 2003, which includes Windows Media Player 9 Series. The h1900 series devices with measure 4.46″ long, 2.75″ wide, 0.50″ thick, and weigh 4.23 oz. (120 g). The h1930 series devices will run on a Samsung S3C2410 processor running at 203 MHz, while the h1940 series devices will run on the same processor running at 266 MHz. All units will come with 64MB SDRAM, 56MB of which is user accessible.

iPhone 3G

The new model of the much loved and phenomenal iPhone 3G that now comes with a 3G, which is way faster than the previous release which used HSDPA. The unit is a bit cheaper than the first model yet reviews are not quite good for they say the second generation or first one in fact can get the same benefits with the necessary upgrades (firmware, software, etc.). The newer release is a bit thinner and has quite an annoying beveled edge which is quite troublesome if you love to use the unit when it is placed on a flat surface say, your desk at the office. Getting tired of that stylus, well then the new and improved version of the much loved PenReader software is the best option for you. It translates and digitizes your finger movements into signals that are understood by the pocketpc saving you the time and effort of using that teeny tiny stylus. Much like Calligrapher, the application allows easy use of your pocketpc giving you that iPhone feel with the touch screen. The application is a nice thing to have during those times when your stylus just happens to fall into the drain or simply missing. The internet has a plethora if useful sites that offer free downloads, as well as reviews of free Pocket PC software applications that tackle a range of tasks. Make sure to read the reviews carefully first, as well as looking at any feedback from previous downloaders. Applications that have a lot of downloads also helps, which tell you that many people have already used that particular software and the application itself is tried and tested already. Also make sure that you’re downloading from trusted sites, so you can avoid any nasty surprises from suspicious sites.
