iPhone 3G
The new model of the much loved and phenomenal iPhone 3G that now comes with a 3G, which is way faster than the previous release which used HSDPA. The unit is a bit cheaper than the first model yet reviews are not quite good for they say the second generation or first one in fact can get the same benefits with the necessary upgrades (firmware, software, etc.). The newer release is a bit thinner and has quite an annoying beveled edge which is quite troublesome if you love to use the unit when it is placed on a flat surface say, your desk at the office.
It does come with some new features like a built in GPS receiver that allows geo-tagged or geo-aware apps to give location information. It can use GPS, WiFi and other broadband antennas for triangulation but the system still has a few bugs to address for it can get confused. They also included an internal compass which moves like the real deal and the interface is a bit more streamlined compared to older models. Rumors of a user-replaceable battery have been put to rest, meaning you still have to send it in to Apple for a replacement (may have to do with the fact that the polymer battery can be quite sensitive and has been known to explode when mishandled).
